Leucothea

Ino, daughter of Cadmus, who after her death became the sea-goddess Leucothea, called Matuta at Rome. Cotta cites her, and her son Palaemon, as deified mortals and pursues the consequences for her kin Circe, Medea, and Pasiphae.

Ino, daughter of Cadmus, who leapt into the sea and was deified as the sea-goddess Leucothea, identified by the Romans with the dawn-goddess Mater Matuta. Another example of human-to-divine transformation.
