Mercury (Greek Hermes) in his cult at Tyndaris on the north coast of Sicily, where a bronze Mercury captured from Carthage had been restored to the city by Scipio Aemilianus. Verres compelled the Tyndaritans to surrender it and prosecuted those who resisted (In Verrem 2.4).
