Aeschines
Athenian orator (c. 389-314 BC), opponent of Demosthenes in the Crown trial; after his exile to Rhodes, allegedly delivered Demosthenes's reply with the famous concession that 'you would have wondered more if you had heard the man himself'.

Aeschines (c. 389-314 BC), the Athenian orator and bitter rival of Demosthenes, who attacked him (in On the Crown) for offering sacrifice on the seventh day after his daughter's death. Cicero uses it to show that conventional mourning is governed by opinion of what one 'ought' to do.
