person
Aledius

An intermediary at Rome through whom Cicero passed inquiries in 45 BC; he reported on Publilius's movements and relayed questions on Atticus's behalf.
Reading notes
- Ad Atticum 12.4 §2 acceptable to Aledius
Aledius was a go-between in Cicero's circle, named here as a touchstone for what the Caesarian side would tolerate. Treating him as the measure of acceptable opinion is faintly mocking.
