A senior centurion (primus pilus) in the army of M. Calpurnius Bibulus, killed with the first cohort in an ambush on Mount Amanus in 51 BC.

The primus pilus (chief centurion of the first cohort) Asinius Dento fell in the Amanus with his whole cohort, in the ambush that cost Bibulus dear. Cicero contrasts this disaster with his own bloodless success to belittle Bibulus's bid for an equal title.
