C. Junius, praetor in 74 BC and quaesitor (president) of the court that tried Statius Albius Oppianicus in the celebrated case at the heart of Pro Cluentio. He was himself prosecuted afterwards for irregularity in the subsortition of jurors and was condemned (Verr. 2.1.157-158); Cicero exploits the precedent in his attack on Verres's misconduct as urban praetor.

Subsortitio iudicum: the substitution of jurors mid-trial. C. Iunius the quaesitor in the trial of Oppianicus (74 BC) was prosecuted afterwards on Cicero's allegation that Verres had forged the album by adding men of his own. The same scandal is the spine of Pro Cluentio.
