Greek historian (c. 360-327 BC), great-nephew of Aristotle and historian of Alexander the Great's expedition; executed by Alexander. In Q.fr 2.11 Cicero dismisses his history as commonplace beside Philistus.

Callisthenes of Olynthus (c. 360-327 BC), Aristotle's great-nephew and the historian of Alexander's expedition, who fell from favour and died in custody after refusing to perform proskynesis. His fate exemplifies the danger of trusting a tyrant's prosperity.
