Freedman of Cyrus the architect who carried Trebatius's verbal greetings to Cicero (Fam. 7.14). Distinct from the Stoic philosopher Chrysippus of Soli (person:chrysippus).

Chrysippus, a freedman, had brought word that Cicero's house (probably the Palatine residence) was under threat of seizure. Cicero dreads being singled out for a calamity others on his side will not share.

A freedman acting as message-bearer; he took his former master's nomen (Vettius) on manumission and is named for the architect Cyrus, a builder Cicero knew. Such freedmen routinely carried verbal greetings between gentlemen and their distant friends.
