A freedman of Julius Caesar who carried Caesar's dispatches from Alexandria to Italy; Cicero, who had not seen him, tells Atticus to question him for news of the war and of young Quintus (Att. 11.6).

Diochares, a freedman of Caesar, had just arrived carrying dispatches from Alexandria, where Caesar was caught up in the war with Ptolemy XIII. As a fresh courier from the east he might know the movements of Cicero's estranged brother Quintus.
