Epicrates

Epicrates, the leading citizen of the small town of Bidis near Syracuse, deprived by Verres of a 500,000-sesterce inheritance from his kinswoman through a manipulation of the local senate (Verr. 2.2.53-62). His case stands as a paradigm of Verres's interference in Sicilian inheritance law.
