A man named in the corrupt quotation Cicero copies from Caesar's letter at Fam. 7.5.2, whom Caesar jokingly offers to make 'king of Gaul'; the manuscript reading is garbled (M. †itfiuium†) and the figure is unidentifiable. Some editors have conjectured Mamurra, Caesar's praefectus fabrum. FLAG: textually corrupt name, identity uncertain.

A joking line Cicero quotes from Caesar's own letter (the man's name is corrupt in the manuscripts): Caesar offers to make Cicero's nominee 'king of Gaul,' i.e. to grant any favour asked. The hyperbole shows how freely Caesar dispensed patronage to Cicero's circle.
