• Ad Atticum 2.18 §2 Laterensis is thought to have done handsomely

  M. Juventius Laterensis withdrew his candidacy for the tribunate of the plebs rather than swear the curse-oath binding him to Caesar's land law, a gesture of principle Cicero admires.

• Ad Familiares 10.11 §3 Laterensis

  M. Iuventius Laterensis, a senior officer serving with or near Lepidus's command; Plancus used him as an intermediary to persuade Lepidus to remain loyal to the Senate. He killed himself when Lepidus defected to Antony in May 43 BC.

• Ad Familiares 10.15 §2 through Laterensis as intermediary

  M. Iuventius Laterensis, a legate in Lepidus's camp loyal to the Senate, served as go-between; he later killed himself in despair when Lepidus joined Antony.

• Ad Familiares 10.21 §1 the assurance of Laterensis on the spot

  M. Iuventius Laterensis was a legate attached to Lepidus's army who acted as honest broker, vouching for Lepidus and urging Plancus to trust him; his subsequent disillusionment (sections 3 and 10.23.4) drives him to attempt suicide.

  Laterensis, who had vouched for Lepidus's loyalty, attempted suicide on discovering the betrayal; Plancus reports he survived the attempt but was uncertain of his recovery (he in fact died of the wound).
