Half-brother of P. Cornelius Sulla and tribune of the plebs in 63 BC; in 54 BC he acted as a supporting prosecutor (subscriptor) alongside Sulla in the ambitus prosecution of A. Gabinius.

A bill promulgated by the tribune L. Caecilius Rufus, half-brother of the defendant, to relax the penalty (loss of office and exile) for those condemned for ambitus, so that Sulla might recover his standing. Caecilius withdrew it at his brother's request.
