Tribune of the plebs (149 BC) who was the first to bring forward a law on extortion (the first standing court), consul of 133 BC, and author of thinly-written annals. Cicero (Brutus 106) names him as advocate, legislator, and historian.

Lucius Calpurnius Piso Frugi (cos. 133 BC), the historian whose cognomen "Frugi" (frugal, upright) made him a byword for old-fashioned restraint. Cicero charges the Epicurean with living like the glutton Gallonius while talking like the abstemious Piso.
