Marcus Allienus the Pelignian

A Pelignian soldier whom Scipio Aemilianus (Africanus the Younger) shielded with his own shield in the battle line while driving his sword into the enemy. Cicero cites the episode to show that Scipio's bravery was the product of judgment, not anger.
