Tribune of the plebs (122 BC), son of Gaius, who broke C. Gracchus, his colleague and tribune for the second time; weighty in speech and authority. Consul of 112 BC. Cicero (Brutus 109) praises him; father of the famous tribune Drusus of 91 BC.

Marcus Livius Drusus the tribune of 122 BC, ancestor of Cato the Younger through the Livii, opposed the reforms of Gaius Gracchus, his near-contemporary. Cicero contrasts the one who 'healed' the commonwealth with the one who 'wounded' it.
