Pacorus

Parthian prince, son of King Orodes II; led the Parthian invasion of Syria in 51 BC that prompted Cicero's official dispatches (Fam. 15.1). Killed in battle against Ventidius at Gindarus in 38 BC.

The great Parthian invasion of Roman Syria in 51 BC, exploiting the collapse of Roman power after Crassus's defeat at Carrhae (53 BC). It was nominally led by the young prince Pacorus, son of King Orodes II, though direction lay with his commanders.
