Philip V, king of Macedon 221-179 BC, defeated by T. Quinctius Flamininus at Cynoscephalae in 197 BC; the Second Macedonian War ended with the celebrated proclamation of Greek freedom at the Isthmian Games of 196. Father of Perseus, and one of the canonical Roman victories invoked at Verr. 2.1.55 and elsewhere.
