Greek Epicurean philosopher and erotic poet (c. 110-c. 35 BC); resident in Piso's household. His epigrams survive in the Greek Anthology, his prose works on the Herculaneum papyri.

Philodemus of Gadara (c. 110-c. 35 BC), Epicurean philosopher and erotic poet, who lived in Piso's household; many of his epigrams survive in the Greek Anthology, and his prose-works are preserved on the carbonised papyri of the Villa of the Papyri at Herculaneum.
