Precius

A man Cicero loved ("valde enim illum amavi"), recently deceased, whose estate (the hereditas Preciana) came to Cicero by inheritance in 50 BC. Distinct from the living Precilii of Fam. 13.15.

Precius (or Praecius) had left Cicero a legacy; the 'Precius business' is the winding-up of that inheritance, which Atticus handled as Cicero's man of affairs. The parallel 'Cispius business' is a similar private matter that has no entity in this corpus.

M. Precius (Precianus), a jurist and friend of Cicero whom Cicero is canvassing on Trebatius's behalf; he later left Cicero an inheritance (the hereditas Preciana, c. 50 BC).
