Q. Fufidius

Roman knight of Arpinum, stepson of M. Caesius. Served as military tribune under Cicero in Cilicia (51–50 BC), and was sent in ca. 46 BC as one of three Arpinate legates to Cisalpine Gaul to oversee the municipality's revenues there. Twice commended by Cicero to Brutus (Fam. 13.11, 13.12).

Cicero held a share, alongside other heirs, in property once belonging to a Fufidius; Atticus was managing the partition on his behalf. This recurring "Fufidian" business is wholly distinct from the Caesarian legate Q. Fufius Calenus.

Income from the property of the Fufidian inheritance (see 11.13) was one of Cicero's few remaining resources. This is the estate matter, not the Caesarian officer Q. Fufius Calenus.
