Son of the orator Q. Hortensius Hortalus; a dissolute young man in 50 BC, later proconsul of Macedonia and a partisan of the Liberators, executed in 42 BC. Not to be confused with his father.

Son of the great orator Hortensius, governor of Macedonia in 43 BC, who raised troops and joined Brutus. Cicero's motion confirms him in his province until a successor is named.
