Reading notes
- Ad Atticum 14.13 §6 the restoration of Sextus Clodius
Sextus Clodius, an agent of the demagogue P. Clodius, had been exiled; Antony recalled him by claiming the measure was among Caesar's enactments, exemplifying the abuse Cicero condemns next.
- Ad Atticum 14.19 §2 the Clodius business
Sextus Clodius, the dead tribune P. Clodius's henchman and scribe, whose recall from exile Antony procured in May 44 BC. Cicero had assented "with leniency and clemency," a concession Antony here thanks him for. Not the long-dead P. Clodius Pulcher himself.
