Sextus Peducaeus

Sex. Peducaeus, praetor 76 BC, governor of Sicily 76-75 (in which year Cicero served under him as quaestor at Lilybaeum, the start of his Sicilian connection). A man of conspicuous integrity throughout the speeches (Verr. 2.1.18; 2.4.142; 2.5.55) and the father of Cicero's friend the younger Sex. Peducaeus of the correspondence.

Sex. Peducaeus, praetor 76 BC, governor of Sicily 75-74 BC, under whom Cicero had served as quaestor at Lilybaeum: an honest census, which Metellus reverted to as soon as Verres's was found unworkable. Almost certainly the same man as the juror let to be rejected in 2-1.18.
