Reading notes
- Ad Familiares 13.48 §1 CICERO C. SEXTILIO RVFO QVAESTORI S. D.
The letter-heading; addressed to C. Sextilius Rufus, quaestor in Cyprus (probably the same man who later commanded part of Cassius's fleet in Syria in 43 BC). Cicero commends the whole population of the island, and the Paphians above all, to the new quaestor's care.
- On the Ends of Good and Evil §2.55 Publius Sextilius Rufus
A Roman who, as heir of Quintus Fadius Gallus, kept a large estate by denying an unwritten request to pass it to Fadius's daughter, sheltering behind the Lex Voconia. Cicero uses him to show a man profiting from injustice without remorse.
