Theodorus of Byzantium

Theodorus

also: Theodorum, Theodorum inde Byzantium

Rhetorician of Byzantium of the later fifth century BC, ranked by Plato's Phaedrus among the early word-artificers. Cicero (Orator 39-40) names him as one of the first technicians of artful prose, faulting his style as abrupt and insufficiently rounded.
