Spurinna

also: Spurinna

Distinguished Roman haruspex (diviner of entrails) who famously warned Julius Caesar to beware the Ides of March (Suet. Iul. 81); in Fam. 9.24 Cicero invokes him humorously as a prophet of Paetus's social ruin if he stops attending dinner-parties.
