Xeno, an Epicurean of Athens and Apollonis, Atticus's friend and Cicero's banker in the province, through whom Cicero arranged the exchange of provincial funds. The Apollonis banker of Att. 5.13 is the same man.

Xeno, the Epicurean of Athens and a close friend of Atticus, also managed Cicero's finances in the East. Cicero made him the companion of his brother Quintus, though their houses were so near that they spent whole days together regardless.

Xeno was the resident head of the Epicurean school at Athens and an intimate of Atticus; Patro was the scholarch of the Garden at Athens. The whole passage concerns Cicero's efforts on behalf of the Epicureans' rights over the site of Epicurus's house.

Cicero recommends Atticus's agents --- including Xeno, here styled "of Apollonis" (a town of Lydia) where he acted as banker --- to Q. Minucius Thermus, the propraetor governing Asia, so that Atticus's financial affairs in the province would be looked after.
