A spur or slope of the Palatine hill at Rome, an aristocratic residential quarter. Milo's house, which Clodius attempted to storm and burn in November 57 BC, stood there (Att. 4.3.2).

The Cermalus was a fashionable spur of the Palatine hill. Milo's house stood there, and Clodius tried to storm and burn it, using the neighbouring house of P. Sulla as a staging-camp.
