The double temple of Honos and Virtus near the Porta Capena, vowed by M. Claudius Marcellus during the siege of Syracuse and dedicated in 205 BC; it housed many of the Syracusan masterpieces Marcellus brought back, and stood for the upright Roman general's treatment of Greek art (Verr. 2.4.120-121).

Marcellus had vowed two temples (one each to Honos and Virtus) on taking Syracuse; the spoils of the city were dedicated there at Rome. Cicero contrasts: Marcellus dedicated to two abstract Roman virtues; Verres owed his vows to Venus and Cupid.
