A Latin tragedy The Epigoni by Accius, on the second expedition against Thebes, adapted from a Greek model. Cicero cites it among the Greek-derived Latin tragedies Romans accept, to defend his own translated speeches.

The Epigoni ('The Successors'), a Roman tragedy (here attributed to Accius) on the second expedition against Thebes by the sons of the Seven. The line addresses Amphiaraus, the seer swallowed alive by the earth, whom Cleanthes uses to figure the 'buried' Zeno.
