A Roman tragedy, attributed to Ennius (after Euripides), on Melanippe, chosen by actors who relied on gesture. Cicero lists it among plays actors picked to suit themselves.

A Latin tragedy on the Melanippe legend; Cicero attributes the cited line ('Who, then, has envied the flower of my children?') to Accius. He uses it to defend the coinage invidentia for the act of envying.
