Reading notes
- On the Nature of the Gods §1.123 Posidonius, the close friend of us all, set out in the fifth book of his work on the nature of the gods
Posidonius of Apamea, the great Stoic polymath and a friend of Cicero, argued that Epicurus secretly disbelieved in the gods and professed otherwise only to avoid hatred. Cotta closes book 1 by endorsing this charge.
