Reading notes
- On the Nature of the Gods §3.63 a temple of Fever on the Palatine
Rome actually maintained cults of harmful powers: a temple of Fever (Febris) on the Palatine, an altar of Orbona (goddess of bereaved parents), and an altar of Evil Fortune on the Esquiline. Cotta cites them to show how recklessly the name of god was applied.
