L. Racilium
also: Lucius Racilius
L. Racilius, tribune of the plebs 56 BC and steadfast supporter of Cicero in his recall (Pro Plancio 77; Ad fam. 1.7); the same name appears at Verr. 2.2.31 as a hypothetical litigant in an example formula. The two are conventionally identified.
Reading notes
- Ad Quintum Fratrem 2.1 §3 Of the tribunes of the plebs, by far the best we have is Racilius
L. Racilius, tribune of the plebs in 56 BC, who pressed for the bribery courts and harried Clodius; Cicero counts him a firm ally among the year's tribunes.
