An ancient Ionian city of the province of Asia, north of Ephesus. In Fam. 13.69 an unnamed Colophonian is the adversary of Cicero's friend Mithres in a dispute over an estate.

The substance of the request: Mithres is litigating over a fundus (a landed estate) against an unnamed citizen of Colophon, an Ionian city of the province of Asia. Cicero asks the governor only to give Mithres fair access and his good opinion, promising he will be no burden.
