Massacre at Brundisium (44 BC)

the Brundisium massacre

also: the centurions slain at Brundisium

In late 44 BC at Brundisium Antony, facing mutiny in the Macedonian legions he had summoned, had a number of soldiers and centurions (including men later associated with the Martian legion) executed. Cicero repeatedly cites the bloodshed as proof of Antony's cruelty.
