Matronalia

Roman festival of the Matronalia, celebrated on the Kalends (1st) of March in honour of Juno Lucina, when husbands gave presents to wives and matrons. Cicero's closing 'an honour, then, to the Kalends of March!' in Fam. 9.22 alludes to it.
