festival

Mucia

Festival celebrated at the cities of Sicily in honour of Q. Mucius Scaevola, the conspicuously upright governor of Asia (94 BC), whose name became proverbial for proper provincial administration. Cicero invokes the Mucia as the standard against which Verres's conduct is measured (In Verrem 2.2).
