Triptolemus

The Eleusinian hero whom Ceres sent through the world in a winged chariot teaching mankind to sow grain. As patron-figure of the Sicilian grain economy he stood appropriately at Henna; Cicero invokes him among the deities Verres violated (In Verrem 2.4).
