the tribal assembly

also: comitiis tributis, comitia tributa, assembly by tribes

The Roman voting assembly organised by the thirty-five tribes; it elected the lower (quaestorian and aedilician) magistrates. In Fam. 7.30 the magistrate took the auspices for the tribal elections (for quaestors) and then exploited them to convene the centuriate assembly the same morning.
