Vigintiviri (the Twenty Commissioners)

the twenty-men

also: the twenty, XXviri, the twenty land commissioners

The board of twenty established by Caesar's agrarian law of 59 BC to oversee the distribution of the Campanian and other public land. Cicero treats membership of it, and the board itself, as a badge of the new regime.
