Lex Acilia de repetundis

the lex Acilia

also: legis Aciliae, paternae legis Aciliae, lex Acilia

An extortion-court statute that Cicero attributes to the father of the presiding praetor M'. Acilius Glabrio, under which (he says) the Roman people enjoyed the best courts and strictest jurors against extortion. Commonly identified with the Gracchan-era lex Acilia repetundarum.
