Lex Cornelia de civitate (Sullae)

Sulla's law on citizenship

also: legem, lege, lex

Sulla's statute after the civil war that purported to strip the rights and citizenship of communities such as Volaterrae and Arretium. Cicero argues in Pro Caecina that citizenship cannot lawfully be taken away by such a law and that its own saving clause undercut it.
