Lex Hirtia

the Hirtian law

also: lege Hirtia, legis Hirtiae, lex Hirtia, Hirtian law

A law proposed (perhaps in 46 BC) by Hirtius excluding former Pompeians from public office or honours. In Phil. 13.32 Cicero, defending his fellow Pompeians, denies it should even be called a law of Hirtius.
