lex Licinia de sodaliciis
Lex Licinia
also: legi Liciniae, lex Licinia, the Lex Licinia
Crassus's law of 55 BC against electoral clubs (sodalicia) used to organise bribery, prosecuting the systematic corruption of voting tribes. A defendant acquitted under the general lex de ambitu could still be tried afresh under this stricter statute.
