Lex Manilia

the Manilian law

also: Manilia lege, lex Manilia

The law of the tribune Gaius Manilius (66 BC) conferring on Pompey the command against Mithridates; Cicero spoke for it in the speech later called Pro Lege Manilia. Cicero (Orator 102) cites his praise of Pompey on that occasion as a specimen of the tempered style.
