the Trojan Horse

the Trojan horse

also: equus Troianus, Trojan horse

The legendary wooden horse by which Greek warriors entered Troy. Cicero invokes it metaphorically in the Pro Caelio, asking whether the bath-tank or some Trojan horse hid the many witnesses supposedly waging a woman's war from ambush.
