office

Pullarius

the chicken-keeper

also: pullarius, chicken-keeper, keeper of the chickens

The attendant who kept and fed the sacred chickens and announced the tripudium auspice to the magistrate. Cicero mocks the office, since the auspice depended on a starved bird dropping a morsel.
