Acidinus (?)

the boy Acidinus

also: puer Acidim, the boy Acidim

A young slave or attendant who met Servius Sulpicius Rufus on the road with a wax tablet announcing Marcellus's death (Ad Fam. 4.12). The manuscript name 'Acidim' is textually corrupt and the figure is otherwise unknown; the form is sometimes emended to a proper name. Flagged: identity and reading uncertain.
